Longmont is welcoming three new businesses.

Sundry on Main, opened on Friday, September 28, is a 200 sq. ft of herbal remedies, vintage jewelry & clothing, mystical gifts, zines, handmade art, and miscellaneous "goodies." The new business is located at 332 Main St. in the Old Town Marketplace building and is owned by Amanda Proscino.

"Longmont is a beautiful town and I kinda fell for it. It is a great community and I am excited to become a deeper part of the community," states Proscino.

First Watch is a restaurant, serving breakfast and lunch. It is located at 2055 Ken Pratt Blvd., Longmont. The doors will open on Saturday, September 29.

First Watch serves freshly cut vegetables, fruits, muffins, and their own from scratch French toast batter.

Family Village is a cooperative co-working and community center providing space, childcare, support and time for today’s hardworking parents. It is located at 350 Terry St., Longmont. On Saturday, September 29, the center will be celebrating its opening with a tour from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

According to the founder, Melanie Piazza, the business originally opened as a members-only facility. It has now expanded to inviting everyone to share in the experience.

“The lives of stay-at-home, work-from-home, entrepreneurial or traditional working parents are complicated. We are working at our job or our business, driving our kids to activities, and in some cases, also caring for an aging or sick parent. Family Village provides the resources our community of hard working parents needs to succeed at our jobs, connect with others and get support in our great community," states Piazza.

Opinion: Judy Benham- Opinion on the Longmont Observer

I had not heard of the Longmont Observer until Christi Yoder showed up on our Nextdoor neighborhood site explaining she is doing a series on homelessness in our community. Her first article was incredible, and her second one insightful, useful and thought-provoking. I watched the video made June 8 (I think that was the date) by the Chief Safety Officer. I found that to be one of the most informative and insightful interviews I’ve ever heard. It gave me some perspectives that had never occurred to me, and that I have ever heard before. Read more...
