To the Editor of the Longmont Observer;

My name is Shawna Darcy and I am writing today to encourage the residents of Ward 3 to vote for Regan Sample as their next City Councilman. I am a first grade teacher at Twin Peaks Charter Academy and I have taught several of the Sample boys. The Sample boys routinely win The Timberwolf Award, which is given for demonstrating the six pillars of character, Fairness, Trustworthiness, Caring, Citizenship, Respect, and Responsibility. They have instilled these values from Regan and his wife, Beth. As a teacher I have seen how much Regan cares about his children and others. When his son was in my class Regan volunteered weekly to help with reading, math facts, and spelling. He would work one on one with the children in the hallway and felt so proud when the children he was working with improved. Regan chaperoned every field trip and really made it fun and engaging. He gives back to the school and the community as a whole. I know Regan will apply the same caring and dedication that he has at Twin Peaks Charter Academy to the City of Longmont and I can think of no better candidate for Ward 3 than Regan Sample.
