Good morning,

I’d like to talk about the happenings at Longmont United  Hospital, i.e. the closing of the warm water pool and exercise facility. Years ago I learned a sentence that said “the body is an integrated whole”. I took this to mean, if every system is working well, the whole being will flourish. If a part of the whole isn’t healthy, we’ll you know what happens then.  We are off to medical speciality physicians who see us as...a liver, a heart, a hip or pancreas.  Sometimes we get a two for one heart/lung, but the rest of the body is left to fend for itself.

Strangely enough from all of these pundits, however, the same advice shows up each and every time”EXERCISE!”

Longmont United Hospital has provided, up until now, a safe place to carry out this dictate from our doctors.  The people who faithfully use this facility are integrating the wholeness of their bodies,, exercising muscles, mentally stimulated by people around them, and yes, feeling safe that there is medical help nearby should they need it in an emergency. When you think about it all or most started attending this facility when they needed rehabilitation of some sort.

This facility is an integral part of our community, and we are willing to pay a fee to use it.
Remember Longmont United as always avarice isn’t pretty in a person or an institution.
