The council has given preliminary approval to a deal with two oil and gas companies. A deal which must, in part, remain confidential. When ever I hear a deal between a municipality and corporations must be less than transparent my b.s. sensor goes off. The bares bones of the deal reported in the Times Call sound not awful, if that’s the meat of the deal then why the secrecy? Perhaps we need a council that respects its constituency intellect to let it in on the complete deal , one that will effect us far beyond the councils tenure in office.
