Mike Foote Offers A Positive Vision for District Attorney’s Office
As I’ve followed the race for Boulder County District Attorney I’ve been disappointed to see that some of the letter writers supporting interim District Attorney Michael Dougherty’s campaign seem to have resorted to half-truths and unfounded attacks on Mike Foote’s record and character.
Meanwhile, the candidate I am supporting, Mike Foote, has offered a positive vision for the District Attorney’s office focused on bail reform, restorative justice, appropriate treatment programs for those suffering with substance abuse or mental health issues, protecting the immigrant community, and enforcing our environmental laws to lean into the fight against fracking.
Mike’s record of service is very distinguished. As a prosecutor, he’s taken on tough cases ranging from gun crime to sexual assault and juvenile justice and everything in between. As District Attorney, I believe he brings the right combination of experience, practical policy knowledge, and passion for the community.
I’d like our elected District Attorney to have a real vision for the office, not to simply attack his opponent. For that reason and many others, including his 14-year record as a prosecutor in the Boulder office and his distinguished record of service in the state legislature, I’m proud to support Mike Foote. He is the right choice in the June 26th Democratic Primary for District Attorney.
