I met Mike Foote for the first time more than seven years ago. At that point, he was a political novice. He was an experienced prosecutor who had spent a decade working as a Deputy District Attorney in the Boulder D.A.’s office taking on all sorts of tough cases, but he was far from a polished political operator.

He expressed his interest in running for the Colorado State House in District 12, which encompasses Lafayette, Louisville, and parts of Longmont. I was skeptical at first, but over time Mike demonstrated to me what a remarkable person and leader he is. I volunteered on his first campaign and was thrilled to see him elected.

I’ve been even more thrilled by the work he’s done representing our community in the legislature. He’s fought against fracking, supported criminal justice reform measures, and authored laws that have had a tangible impact improving our community.

Now, seven years after I first met him, I’m proud to be supporting him once again as my choice for Boulder County District Attorney. Mike is absolutely the right person to be D.A.

He’s worked in the office for the last fourteen years. He’s been a leader on criminal justice issues. He’s been endorsed by over 70 community leaders, including every member of Boulder County’s legislative delegation, all three commissioners, and mayors and city council members from across the community.

Mike’s passion for our community, his leadership ability, his experience in the office, and his legal acumen make him the best choice to become our elected District Attorney. I’m proud to have known him for the last seven years and I’m proud to support him in this campaign.
