Jean was born March 3, 1948 to Edmund and Mary Schifferns.  She graduated from Longmont High School and from there attended St Joseph’s in Denver to become a registered nurse.  Following that, she accepted a position at Longmont United Hospital.  Jean later dedicated her life to raising her two daughters, Teresa and Tammy.

Her hobbies included camping, movie watching, reading and practicing her faith.  She had a strong passion for nature and wildlife, especially hummingbirds and squirrels.  She loved all of her dogs dearly.  Being an animal advocate was very important to her, as she was a member of several animal rights groups.  She greatly enjoyed spending time with her three granddaughters and one great granddaughter.

We know she is free and at peace, and she will be sadly missed.

Jean was preceded in death by Edmund and Mary Schifferns.

Her survivors include her two daughters, Teresa Bauer and Tammy King, two brothers, Jim and Mark Schifferns, three grandchildren Jessica and Shelby Bauer and Sabrina Ryschon and one great granddaughter Riley Ryschon.

The Longmont Observer would like to thank Carroll-Lewellen for providing this obituary.
