McKesson/CoverMyMeds designs and delivers complete systems that automate the refilling process for pharmacies. On Thursday, the Longmont business celebrated moving into a larger facility.

The new site at 1844 Nelson Road is around 76,000 square feet. Before the move, the company occupied four separate locations that included around 50,000 square feet combined, said Tom Dean, VP of manufacturing.

The separate facilities created problems for the company because it had to transfer equipment and products between facilities along with personnel.

The new facility is home to the organization’s manufacturing technology arm which includes around 50 employees. The move to the new facility has been an ongoing process since December, Dean said. The process was done without having to shut down its production facilities.

McKesson celebrated its new facility on Thursday by hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for the community and its employees. Following the ceremony, those in attendance were able to tour the facility.

“It’s CoverMyMed’s mission to help people live healthier lives and we do that in different ways … our contribution to that mission is making sure it is cost-effective to dispense medication,” Dean said.

The McKesson/CoverMyMeds team was excited to have the support of the community as they searched for a facility that would keep them in Longmont.
