TLC Learning Center’s Christmas Tree Festival, a Longmont holiday tradition for more than three decades, announces 2018 event dates and important venue changes.

The 37th annual festival is set for December 1 and 2. Due to the pending closure of the festival’s longtime venue, the Plaza Event Center, organizers found two new spaces in Longmont. The St. Vrain, 635 3rd Ave., will host the Saturday evening event, and the Sunday morning event will take place at The Wild Game, 2251 Ken Pratt Blvd.

The format of the events has not changed. Each venue will feature a display of dozens of beautiful themed Christmas trees, lavishly decorated with ornaments, lights and items related to the theme. All trees are valued at a minimum of $150, with decorations like gift cards, toys, electronics and home decor.

“In past years, we’ve seen ornaments stuffed with cash, a tree-shaped pegboard filled with power tools, a white tree completely covered in designer jewelry, and even a child’s driveable Cinderella carriage,” said Amanda Boldenow, TLC’s development manager.

Attendees choose which trees they’d like to possibly win by putting their raffle tickets in the corresponding boxes. Six tickets are included, and additional tickets can be purchased on site. The evening event also includes dinner, a cash bar, a wine pull, live entertainment and personal stories shared by TLC alumni. The Sunday event also includes a luncheon, a cash bar, and live holiday entertainment by TLC students. Early-bird pricing is available through Oct. 31.

“Both events are great opportunities for friends to get together and have fun competing for trees and supporting the Longmont community,” added Boldenow.

For more than 60 years, TLC Learning Center has offered early-childhood education programs for infants, toddlers and preschoolers of all abilities. Proceeds from the annual Christmas Tree Festival help TLC offer tuition assistance to families unable to afford preschool, as well as essential pediatric therapies for children without insurance.
