Bird-Friendly, Climate-Friendly Conference

  • Time: 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
  • Location: Jack's Solar Garden

Think: solar + agriculture + kids + science + pollinators. That's the essence of Jack's Solar Garden.

I, Byron Kominek, the owner of Jack's Solar Garden, will tell you the story of my family's farm in Boulder County and about the work I have done to make my family's dream come true.

Researchers will use Jack's Solar Garden to study crop growth underneath our panels and transmit that information to other farms along the Front Range. A pollinator habitat will be established around the perimeter of the solar array for the birds and the bees, while school kids will be invited to tour our land to see for themselves how food and energy can be produced together.

No War on Iran: Longmont Leads w Love Weekly Vigil

  • Time: 1-2 p.m.
  • Location: 600 Main St.

SPECIAL THIS WEEK: No War on Iran!

Make your voice heard and your signs seen in Longmont:
(Thursday) 5:00 – 6:00 and at the regular vigil, Saturday, 1:00 – 2:00, both at 6th and Main.

It’s an election year, and even the most impulsive, irrational incumbent candidate (you know who) is watching public opinion closely. Let him know that starting a war will not get him elected; it will doom his chances!

When: Every Saturday 1:00 – 2:00 PM
(Closing circle at 1:55 for songs and announcements)

Where: Main Street at 6th Avenue

Why: Stand up for kindness toward all people and the planet
Rally for policies you care about
Send a progressive message to our city and our nation
Help build Longmont’s progressive community
Stand in solidarity with friends, old and new

Bring signs, banners, flags, songs, art, etc. expressing your vision of a better city, a better America, a better world for all!

This is a peaceful gathering. When approached by passers-by who are angry or abusive, please keep your cool. This is an exercise in compassionate listening and respect. Lead by example. Anyone who becomes violent in word or deed will be politely asked to leave.

Child friendly – not a silent vigil

Parking: Public lot on east side of Coffman Street between 6th and 5th

Everyone is welcome!! Please spread the word far and wide!!

Ghosts of Christmas Past - new date!

  • Time: 4:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Location: Callahan House, 312 Terry St.

**NEW DATE! Due to a prediction of another oncoming big snowstorm, we are rescheduling this event to Saturday, January 11, 2020.**

Come join psychic medium and historical tour guide Dori Spence as we celebrate Christmas - Victorian style! This event will be held at the Callahan House in Longmont. This iconic 1872 home has been often touted as being one of the most haunted locations in Northern Colorado. We will start off with a tour of the home and a presentation about the History & Mystery, and then we will break off into groups and investigate the entire home to see if we can open up the lines of communication with residents long since passed... or not?

This very special event will be on Saturday, January 11, 2020. The talk/tour will begin at 4:30 PM and the investigation will begin at 7:00 PM. You can buy tickets for either one or the other for $20/pp, or there is also a special "combo" ticket discount which buys you both events for just $30/pp. Kindred Spirits members can take an additional $5 off these prices.

For details and membership info, please visit the Kindred Spirits Society website at https://www.kindredspiritsociety.org/full-schedule.
