On Wednesday, October 9, Sustainable Resilient Longmont is hosting a candidate forum to discuss the climate and sustainability issues. The topics to be covered include renewable energy, zero waste, sustainable transportation, air quality, climate change, oil and gas/ fracking, water conservation, and land use.

“Climate change and sustainability are some of the most crucial issues facing our community. We’re pleased to be providing an opportunity for candidates for City Council and Mayor to talk about what can be done at the local level and how Longmont can make a positive difference, not only for our residents, but for our youth and future generations,” said Sustainable Resilient Longmont Board Chair Abby Driscoll.

The forum has invited all the candidates for Longmont City Council and Mayor.

The event will be held at the Longmont Public Library on Oct. 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
