Written by Macie May: The Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC) hosts ribbon cuttings for local businesses. Ribbon cuttings in August include Camp Bow Wow, Primerica Financial Services, Snyder Insurance Associates, Movement Mortgage, Simply Home Consignments and Gifts, Longmont Dairy Farm and LSE Builders Group.

Ribbon cuttings are free and open to the public.

Camp Bow Wow will host their ribbon cutting on Thursday, August 2 from 4-5 p.m. at 801 S. Sherman St., Longmont. According to the LACC website, "Camp Bow Wow is the leading pet care franchise and is all about Happy Healthy Pets and Happy Healthy People. Learn why pets and their parents love Camp Bow Wow Longmont. Offering dog day care, boarding and grooming services."

Primerica Financial Services' ribbon cutting will take place on Tuesday, August 7 from 4-5 p.m. at 202 Main St. Ste 3, Longmont. "Primerica helps people learn how to make their money work for them using simple financial concepts," states the Primerica Financial Services website.

Snyder Insurance Associates will have a ribbon cutting at Longtucky Spirits, located at 350 Terry St. Ste 120, on Thursday, August 9 from 4-5 p.m. According to the LACC website, Snyder Insurance Associates is an "independent Insurance Agency specializing in property, casualty, business, commercial, and specialty lines."

Movement Mortgage's ribbon cutting will be on Thursday, August 16 from 4-5 p.m. at 500 Coffman St. Ste 101, Longmont.

Simply Home Consignments & Gifts hosts a ribbon cutting on Thursday, August 23 from 4-5 p.m. at 1225 Ken Pratt Blvd #124, Longmont. "Simply Consignments & Gifts features a wide array of furniture home decor, clothing and jewelry," states the LACC website.

Longmont Dairy Farm will host a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, August 28 from 4-5 p.m. at 920 Coffman, Longmont. Longmont Dairy Farm offers home delivery dairy service.

The last ribbon cutting in the month of August is for LSE Builders Group. It will take place on Thursday August 30 from 4-5 p.m. at 318 Main St., Longmont. "LSE Builders Group is a full-service residential and commercial construction company owned and operated by a licensed General Contractor," states the LSE Builders Group website.

Summer Fun for Kids This Week at the Library

Written by Macie May: On Thursday, August 2, the Longmont Public Library is featuring Bradley Weaver as he performs Traditional and Original Folk Music on the West Patio. The event is from 10-10:45 a.m. and is part of the Live! at the Library series.

"Tale of Desperaux" (rated G) will be shown on Friday, August 3. Tickets for the event will be given out beginning at 1:30 p.m.

The Longmont Public Libray is located at 409 4th Ave. Registration for these events is not required. The Library asks that "all children age 9 and under must be accompanied by a dedicated caretaker." More details available at http://bit.ly/LibKids.

In the Trenches: A Parenting Musical Tickets Available

7:30 pm to 8 pm: Afterparty
