Sustainable Resilient Longmont (SRL) announced the 2018 Longmont Sustainability Awardees on September 13, 2018.

The awards will be given during the 2018 Longmont Sustainability Awards on September 22 and held at the Firehouse Art Center. For tickets click here.

“We’re incredibly fortunate to have so many local leaders in sustainability here in Longmont,” Sustainable Resilient Longmont Board Chair Abby Driscoll said. “We hope that this recognition will spark a new wave of commitment to sustainability and encourage more businesses, nonprofits and individuals to take action on climate change in Longmont."

The awards and the recipients are as follow:

Sustainability Program:

Sustainability Leader:

  • Kelly Mahoney, Founder and Executive Director, Longmont Food Rescue

Boulder County Author Discusses 40 Seasons of Mountain Living

Boulder County author, Karen Auvinen, will be speaking about her book Rough Beauty: 40 Seasons of Mountain Living at the Longmont Public Library on Thursday, September 27 from 7-8 p.m.

Auvinen's book "traces her journey as she recovered from a devastating fire at her home that burned every word she'd ever written as well as many family treasures and was forced to reconcile her love of solitude with her need for community," states a press release by the Longmont Library.
