This News and Brews event will be held at St. Vrain Cidery, located at 350 Terry St., Ste. 130, Longmont on July 30 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The St. Vrain Cidery will be offering their happy hour specials: $1 off both 8oz and 12oz pours.

The topic for the evening: Homelessness in Longmont.

Guest speaker for the evening: Jeff Satur, Deputy Chief, Police Services Division for Longmont Department of Public Safety.

Longmont Observer staff and writers will also be there to carry on conversations about the topic of the evening or other local news.

Boulder County Circles Program Addressing Poverty Informational Event

Written by Macie May: The Boulder County Circles Program is hosting an event on Thursday, July 19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Longmont Old Chicago location (1805 Industrial Circle).

According to their website, "Circles uses high impact strategies to bring about deep change by doing WITH not FOR."

This event is designed to educate attendees about Circles Boulder County, "how we address ending poverty by building community" and "the reality of poverty in Boulder County and what people can do to make a difference," states an event announcement posted to Nextdoor.

Landlord Alliance: Meth Remediation

From 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, July 11, attorney Melanie Granberg will discuss the state statute governing methamphetamine-contaminated properties and how to deal with them at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue.

Register Now for Children’s Bike Rodeo

The following is a press release from the City of Longmont and is published by the Longmont Observer as a public service.

The City of Longmont will host a bicycle rodeo for children ages 4-10 from 9 am to noon on Tuesday, July 17, at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue.

Kids must bring their own bikes and helmets, but helmets will be provided for those who don’t have one.

Participants will learn to conduct quick bike safety checks, as well as bike handling skills and age-appropriate map reading skills, and the first 100 to register will receive a free goody bag.
