Boulder County Commissioners Express Their Opinion on Statewide Transportation Ballot Issues

On Tuesday, August 14, the Board of County Commissioners for Boulder County expressed their opinion on upcoming statewide transportation ballot issues.

The county commissioners expressed their support of Ballot Initiative #153 with a formal resolution (Resolution 2018-88), "Let's Go, Colorado."

"Let's Go Colorado" is "a citizen-generated initiative to fund needed transportation improvements throughout Colorado and in Boulder County, specifically," states a press release from Boulder County.

Formal action was also taken for Ballot Initiative #167, "Fix Our Damn Roads," an initiative that addresses transportation funding and would authorize bonds for transportation projects. This time, the commissioners sought action to oppose the initiative, "citing its lack of funding and exclusion of transit options," states the press release.

According to the press release, "Both initiatives are likely to qualify for the statewide ballot in November 2018, and the commissioners have expressed concern that having both measures on the ballot could create confusion for Colorado voters."
