*Update: This article was originally published with the incorrect date. The community conversation on Reducing the Risk of Gun Violence will be held on September 12, not September 21.

On Wednesday, September 12 a community conversation on Reducing the Risk of Gun Violence will be held at the Longmont Museum, located at 400 Quail Road, Longmont.

The event is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. and is free. Space is limited to the first 120 Longmont residents who register.

According to the City of Longmont’s website:

“There is no more important or timely need in communities everywhere than reducing the risk of gun violence while respecting the rights of gun owners.  Like other communities, Longmont has an obligation to reduce risks of gun violence and the fear among gun owners that their right to gun ownership will be compromised.  Unlike other communities, Longmont will do this by bringing all interested residents together to listen and to share with one another in World Café conversations focusing on two questions:

What can we do collectively to reduce risk and respect rights?

What can I do individually to reduce risk and respect rights?

This event will be led by leaders of Longmont’s faith community and supported by the City of Longmont.
