With Longmont Restaurant Week starting this Friday, March 29, the Longmont Observer will be publishing previews of the $18.71 menu. Keith MacPhail, owner and chef of Mac's Place, invited the Longmont Observer to preview the menu as well as answer a few questions.

Why did you select these items as part of the Longmont Restaurant Week menu?

I decided to offer three brand new items for both our breakfast and lunch menus. The French Connection breakfast is similar to a Monte Cristo sandwich but includes scrambled eggs and is served on a brioche roll. We are also offering breakfast burritos for the first time. My favorite of the new lunch items is a South Western Angus Burger, topped with a roasted poblano pepper, Pepper Jack cheese and salsa on the side. For Restaurant Week we are pricing two items for $18.71 and five burritos at the same price point.

What is your favorite item on Mac's Place standard menu?

The Classic Reuben sandwich made with corned beef brisket I brine myself for ten days. It's on marbled rye bread and served with home made potato chips or tater tots.
