LONGMONT - In our latest video, Pastor Matthew Spencer of Christ Church International sits down with Pastor Gary Jefferson of Front Range Christian Fellowship to talk about the importance of prayer. Pastor Gary is known and loved throughout the community for his warm personality, his inclusiveness, and his heart for the homeless. He is a Kingdom-minded man, always quick to promote the work of the Lord. As well as the pastor of FRCF, he is also the board president of Agape Safe Haven, a ministry dedicated to helping the homeless of our community.

Prayer is Vital

Pastor Gary said that all of our strength, power, and wisdom comes from God. And he said that, prayer is a vital part of our life. "Everything we do, we do it in prayer...That keeps us focused, and grounded, and anchored in the Lord."

Pray in Reverence

Pastor Gary emphasized that as we pray, we should pray with great reverence. Because God is the Holy One, we should honor Him and glorify Him. "We need to address Him that way...knowing that He loves us and that He will care for us."

Prayer Is Communication

Prayer is communication. Just like to two friends talking with one another. Pastor Gary said, "You don't have to put on any pretenses. Just come as you are. And speak with Him. Knowing that He's your Savior, He is God...He wants to hear from us."

Pastor Gary also said, "Every time I pray, I feel great...when I speak to the Lord, my whole being is elevated." He said that as we pray we activate the power of the Holy Spirit. He continued to share the most powerful prayer that he ever prayed, saying:

"Probably the most powerful prayer I ever prayed was, 'Lord help me.'"

Pastor Gary concluded the video by praying for our city. He prayed that the Lord would keep the streets safe and the church doors open. He prayed that the Lord would bless the people of Longmont, that He would bless the businesses, the churches, the schools, and the citizens of Longmont.
