As the new year approaches, the Longmont Observer will be winding down a little bit; we will still be publishing news but it won’t be as frequent until the Longmont City Council and St. Vrain Valley School District board meetings start back up again on the week of January 8, 2018.

As you all may (or may not) know, we’re a locally focused non-profit newsroom that’s 100% volunteer staffed.  And it’s a pretty small staff.  Only about 3 people regularly put in time each day, with another half dozen putting in a few hours each week or so.

As a result, we don’t have the resources or the money to pay people to keep things going when most of our folks are with Family and Friends over the holidays.

You’ll still see new stories over this timeframe and we’ll be back in full force soon, but we’re taking a break over the next two weeks, so don’t be surprised when you see less content for a little while.

Thank you for your continued support and Happy Holidays!

P.S. If you like what we are doing and would like us to be able to pay our folks to put in some more time, please, make a small tax-deductible donation today.  We’d love to pay our folks, at least a little, to keep the Observer going, and growing, in 2018.

If you're interested in helping in a more hands-on manner, we need more volunteers!

Drop us a line at [email protected], or email Sergio Angeles, our Managing Editor (at [email protected]), or me, Scott Converse, the Publisher (at [email protected]).  We'd love to talk to you more.
