The Longmont Museum will open their new exhibit Ansel Adams: Early Works on Friday, Jan. 25. The exhibition will run through May 26.

Ansel Adams, a photographer and a conservationist, is known for changing the understanding of landscape photography and legitimizing it as a recognized form of modern art.

“While Adams was prolific for more than five decades, the works in this show shed light on the early part of his career,” said Museum Director Kim Manajek. “The compositions, the depth of field, and the saturation changed over time. This is a rare glimpse into the development of one of American’s most beloved landscape photographers.”

The opening reception for the exhibition takes place from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25. Tickets can be purchased at the Longmont Museum.
