The teen years are increasingly stressful, and our local kids are feeling it, especially during finals and the holidays. After receiving terrifically positive feedback to its September program, the Longmont Public Library and the Prairie Mountain Zen Center in Longmont are again teaming up to offer a special program that promotes mindfulness and meditation techniques and practices to tweens and teens.

On Saturday, December 7 and Saturday, January 11, from 1 to 2 pm, Marcia Walker from the Prairie Mountain Zen Center in Longmont returns with another program specially designed for 6th through 12th graders featuring breathing practices, mindfulness meditation, and yoga poses to help teens learn how to release stress and find their inner calm.

Walker is a certified yoga instruction and a Zen meditation practitioner and has created this program for teens based on the book by Mallika Chopra, Just Breathe. Participants will be encouraged to find a safe, happy, quiet space within their homes and to set an intention to practice mindfulness meditation daily. No registration is necessary.
