Lach-Tober-Fest To Bring Longmont Designers And Artists Together.

Longmont is home to a large number of photographers, designers and artists of all stripes. One enterprising member of Longmont’s design community aims to bring the creatives together, to network and engage the community.

Lach-Tober-Fest will take place across the month of October, organized by Lachlan Quintana, starting with a Happy Hour at Longtucky Spirits. The Happy Hour is scheduled for October 1st at 5 p.m., as a place for participants and sponsors to meet and get to know each other.

Continuing the creative festivities, the Design Battle on October 3rd will encourage graphic designers to work with solutions in mind, both competitively and collaboratively. Following that will be the FlashCast , a live podcast tutorial session, on October 8th at the Longmont Observer.

October 12th will be the Differential Design Seminar at the Firehouse Art Center. CoSolve will host the Portrait Studio Day on October 17th, featuring discounted rates for head shots, couples portraits and more, with proceeds going to Habitat For Humanity and Longmont’s Firehouse Art Center.

The LoCo Photo Royale, October 19th, will be held in downtown Longmont. It will be a competition between different types of photographers, with challenge awards provided by sponsors, and winners gaining a place in a Longmont focused calendar. The photos will be given to the Longmont Downtown Development Authority for use in the city's marketing materials.

The Photo Royale is not limited to photographers with full-frame cameras, but smartphone photographers as well. The challenges will not be announced until the day of the event, but they are going to be targeted towards creative angles and out-of-the-box thinking.

Finally, the Animators-Filmmakers Galore Meetup will take place at Longtucky Spirits on October 25th. More details surrounding the event are available at Lachlan Quintana's website, as well as sign up information.
