Firehouse Art Center's 2nd Friday Exhibition

Friday, June 14th and the interior of the Firehouse Art Center was crowded with the opening of Bradley J. Books exhibit, Some Men Lie About Other Things. The work is vibrant, poignant and autobiographical. Paint and poetry coat the walls with Books’ life, beautiful, tragic and hopeful thoughts alike. During the artist’s talk, presented in the form of an interview and accompanied by his mother, he spoke humbly of his desire to create, motivated by both optimism and catharsis.

In the South Gallery, artist duo Lyndsey Webster and Cory McKague discussed their ongoing Working Artist project. The pair are inviting the Longmont community to join them for the project, engaging the creativity and building a vision of Longmont’s collective aesthetic. Bags of material, work uniforms and name tags are provided, via sign up sheets located at the Gallery itself.

“Some Men Lie About Other Things” is featured through July 6th in the Main Gallery.
