In December 2019, the City of Longmont began a feasibility study to contemplate the future of the Longmont Public Library. Specifically, the study is intended to discover what the Longmont community most wants and needs from its library and how those goals can best be achieved with potential funding structures. The outcome of this study will likely affect the Library (and therefore, the community) for decades to come, so the Library is seeking feedback from the community.

In order to compile as much information as possible from as many residents as possible, the Library will be hosting community meetings and using a survey to hear directly from members of the public about what they believe the Longmont Public Library should offer.

Monday, February 10, 6:30 to 8 pm
at the Longmont Public Library
409 4th Ave (corner of Emery and 4th), Longmont
Meeting will be in the Children's section and will primarily focus on services to families

Tuesday, February 11, 6:30 to 8 pm
at Casa de la Esperanza
1520 S. Emery St., Longmont
This meeting will be held in English AND Spanish

Wednesday, February 12, 6:30 to 8 pm
at the Longmont Museum
400 Quail Rd., Longmont

Thursday, February 13, 6 to 8:30 pm

1200 Lashley St., Longmont

The study consultants have worked with City staff to create a thorough survey that should provide incredibly valuable information about community priorities. Longmont area residents are encouraged to complete this survey, which takes approximately 10 minutes to finish. City staff acknowledge that this survey is longer than other surveys the Library has done, but explain that the extended length is necessary to gather adequate information on which to base recommendations. The City greatly appreciates community members' time in helping it gather this important information. The survey can be found at http://bit.ly/LibraryFuture.
