LONGMONT, CO –  For Longmont homes, increased energy efficiency is just a click away.

The Efficiency Works™ program from Longmont Power & Communications (LPC) has opened a new online store for home efficiency products, with rebates available on select items at checkout, LPC announced today. Available items at https://efficiencyworksstore.com  include smart thermostats, LED light bulbs and low-flow showerheads, with new products to be added as they become available.

“Even with some of the lowest electric rates in Colorado, we always look for ways to help the Longmont community save even more on their energy costs,” general manager Tom Roiniotis said. “The new Efficiency Works Store allows our customers to take simple steps that can add up to welcome savings.”

The store is available to utility customers in Longmont, Loveland, Estes Park, and Fort Collins, the four communities who co-own Platte River Power Authority (PRPA) and cooperate in offering Efficiency Works™.

PRPA customer services supervisor Adam Perry said Platte River was thrilled to offer the new site and further encourage electric and water efficiency.

“Utility customers can now save energy, water, and time by shopping online at the Efficiency Works Store, save money by earning rebates on select products, and save more on utility bills long after the products are delivered to their doors,” Perry said.

In 2017, LPC’s energy efficiency services helped save Longmont customers and businesses nearly 5.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, enough to power over 7,800 homes for a month. Over the same period, more than 11,000 energy-saving items were purchased in Longmont through Efficiency Works lighting and consumer product rebates.
