Recently, Whole Foods received information that an unauthorized access of payment card information happened at stores containing taprooms and full table-service restaurants. Not all Whole Foods stores contain these venues. In the Longmont store, the Pressery Juice Bar, was listed in the company release. This is the only site affected in the state of Colorado.

The breach did not affect cards used in the primary store checkout systems or transactions on as those systems also are not connected to that of the juice bar, taproom or restaurant systems.

“When Whole Foods Market learned of this, the company launched an investigation, obtained the help of a leading cybersecurity forensics firm, contacted law enforcement, and is taking appropriate measures to address the issue,” the company said in a statement. More details of the ongoing investigation will be provided as Whole Foods learns more.

Even though most Whole Foods stores do not have taprooms or restaurants, the company encourages all customers to closely monitor their payment card statements and to report any unauthorized charges to their bank.
