Ivy Rose, a women's clothing shop on Main Street opened on October 13. 2017. Prior to October, there were only nine clothing shops in Longmont that sold women's clothes, among them: Marshall's, Rue 21 and Target. Since then that number has changed and now  Ivy Rose is on the list. Their opening was an exciting moment to women because Ivy Rose provides a new option for affordable clothing. Ivy Rose also offers clothes for women from preteens all the way to 99.

But where did the inspiration for this new shop come from? Owner, Rosemary said :"Ivy Rose is based on a store that exists in Grand Junction and I always went to that store. So that summer I was vacationing there and went to the store again. And because I'd just moved to Longmont, putting the Longmont and Grand Junction connection together, I thought 'oh, this could be really good in Longmont you know'"

Rosemary then took the next step to making her idea come to life, which was to contact the owner of the Grand Junction store for help and "ultimately ended up hiring her a consultant." The owner of the store in Grand Junction; Ivy guided Rosemary through the steps and business plan. Rosemary also reached out the the Longmont Economic Development Partnership. After talking to them, they collectively decided that "yep, this would be a great idea...this totally makes sense. Because at that time, there were only nine places in Longmont that sold new women's clothing." Rosemary began looking for a location and started getting to work. When asked where the inspiration for the shops' name came from she simply said, "It comes from the store owner, her name is Ivy, and my name is Rosemary. So Ivy Rose."

Ivy Rose is focused on "on trend, ever changing clothes for women of all generations...so all ages and all sizes." As Rosemary says, "I could outfit someone for work, not as a banker or you know a CEO, probably not, but for most of Colorado's work lifestyles. I can outfit someone for work, I can outfit someone for a special occasion and everything in between." Her shop is meant to keep up with trends and be a fit for women of every generation. It's often that women can't go to certain stores because that's "grandma style" or "that's my granddaughter's style" Rosemary's goal is for everyone to find something that fits their age and style at Ivy Rose

According to Rosemay, Ivy Rose can offer "private shopping events, so birthdays, parties, or girl's night out. They can come after hours, or before hours and shop privately with a group of people or individuals who say, 'I don't like to shop.' We'll open up an hour early and have a private shopping event or a private shopping appointment if you want that." This is good for girl's parties or just a fun shopping night with friends." Rosemary also mentioned a closet editing offer, this includes a two hour session at your own home, deciding what to keep and what to throw out of your closet. "I leave you with a list of new outfits from your own closet, then I create a shopping list for you, so you know what you need to add." Another service includes travel packing for any event.

Rosemary's main goal for this shop, is for customers to come in and feel like they're "shopping with (their) best friend." She hopes to achieve this through one on one interaction with everyone who comes in, really getting "to know them and where they come from in order to enhance their wardrobe." Rosemary's background has been all focused on personal service, coming from 15 years of being a wardrobe stylist and personal shopper.

For example, a mom (70's) and daughter (40's) visited Ivy Rose. "The mom had just lost her husband and was looking to kind of transition to a new life," mentioned Rosemary. This woman had not been used to wearing tighter pants, so with Rosemary's help she was able to transition into more trendy and tighter fitting pants. This mom was ecstatic about the style and said "my friends are going to be so jealous of these!"

Ivy Rose is able to offer services beyond what most women's clothing stores have to offer. They aim to maintain a friendly and helpful atmosphere as soon as you enter the shop.
