The Longmont Museum’s Thursday Night’s music series starts off with Boulder based Banshee Tree. The band combines acoustic instruments with a diverse blend of electronic dance music, jam, and early jazz. Banshee Tree has developed a reputation as one the West's most multifaceted young touring bands. Fans of Gogol Bordello, Caravan Palace, and Django Reinhardt will appreciate these driving, earthy acoustic dance grooves.  The band has even described some of their inspiration as coming from Thundercat and Tom Waits, so an interesting and eclectic evening is in store.

Singer and songwriter Thom LaFond founded the group a few years back, and is now the only original member.  He also plays guitar and piano, and is joined on stage by three diverse acoustic musicians.  Michelle Pietrafitta plays drums and shares vocals with Thom, and Nick Carter includes Hollering among his musical credentials, in addition to playing violin and fiddle. Jason Bertone has a classical jazz background and rounds out the quartet on the upright bass and adds "Shouting" whenever required.
