On August 2, 2019, Firehouse Art Center and ArtWalk Longmont announced that they have merged the two operations.
ArtWalk board president Heather Beasley says, “After more than two decades of bringing street arts festivals to Longmont every summer, ArtWalk is thrilled to become a flagship program of the Firehouse Art Center. Given our organizations’ shared goals and similar missions, we will work more effectively and responsively to serve the Longmont community by joining together and pooling our resources.”
Firehouse Art Center will become the umbrella organization and expanding on the shared goal to create “a lasting impact on arts and culture throughout the St. Vrain Valley,” according to a press release.
Richard Greening, President of the Firehouse Art Center Board of Directors, stated “the ability to partner and now merge with the ArtWalk is
an opportunity for the Firehouse Art Center to expand programming and create larger impacts for all members of our community.”
ArtWalk Longmont hosts two events each summer. One of which is scheduled for Septemeber 21 from 4-8 p.m. in Downtown Longmont.
“Our event on September 21 will not only go ahead as planned, but expand north to Longs Peak Avenue to feature even more local artists and arts activities,” states Beasley.
