The Shock Art program, introduced in 2011, provides funds to decorate switchgear boxes throughout Longmont, in conjunction with Longmont Power and Communications. Local artists submit scaled down designs, voted on by the public. The artists submitting the winning designs are commissioned to paint boxes in pre-selected locations. To date, there are approximately 25 painted switchgear boxes throughout Longmont.

Art on the Move, which debuted in 2005, provides local artists with the opportunity to create temporary art installations that are featured around town. For a complete map of art installations, consult the City of Longmont Bike Map.
