The fifth annual Catrina Ball at the Dickens Opera House will be a party to die for ... or at least an event to celebrate the lives of those who have already made the journey into the Great Beyond. The Ball commemorates Día de los Muertos, a widely observed holiday in Mexico and other Latin countries. It is a time when the living remember and honor departed relatives. But rather than doing so in a gloomy manner, as the name may suggest, The Day of the Dead is a time of festive celebration. Everyone is invited to put on your Catrina/Catrin face, gather noisemakers and join the larger than life Gigante paper mache puppets & musicians for the Gigante Procession to the Catrina Ball!

Dia de los Muertos revelers will gather for a fiesta on November 03, 2017 in the St. Stephens Plaza at 5:00pm for the following activities:

-Downtown altar tours.

-Face painting by Montage Academy.

-Memorial Urn, writing of hopes and wishes.

-Interactive noisemakers with Intercambio Uniting Communities -Angel wing station thanks to TinkerMill!

The procession will begin at St. Stephens at 6:30PM, proceed up the alleyways north to 6th Ave looping back down the alleyways then on to the Dickens Opera House for the 5th annual Catrina Ball (Map coming soon!).

The Catrina Ball will take place from 7 – 1 a.m. at the Dickens Opera House! During the Catrina Ball you will experience:

-Traditional Azteca Dancing

-Nahucalli Folklorico Dancers

-Food & Drinks from Dickens -Sounds of Radio Ole DJ and much more!

Tickets for the Catrina Ball are $5 in advance which includes food and they are available for purchase at the Dickens Tavern or on their website!
