May 15 is recognized across the nation as Peace Officer Memorial Day. It is a day dedicated to the memory of fallen peace officers who have lost their lives while on duty.

Longmont Public Safety hosted a Peace Officer Memorial Service dedicated to four officers in Colorado, none from Longmont. Those officers included Daniel H. Groves of Colorado State Patrol, Matthew Troy Moreno of Las Animas County Sheriff's Office, Heath McDonald Gumm of Adams County Sheriff's Office, and Mich Flick of El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

A proclamation was read by Mayor Pro Tem Polly Christensen and Public Safety Chief Mike Butler read a poem.

The following is the video of the memorial.
