Values with Shakeel: How does a going concern rework its distribution priorities in the midst of a crisis?

It’s a success story we are hearing over and over again as Longmont copes with social distancing to protect the most vulnerable among us. As the venerated Mr. Rogers advised us more than two decades ago, always look for the helper. Certainly, Longmont’s helpers are a more than usually resourceful group.

In this episode of Values, Shakeel speaks with Katie Wiser of Longmont Meals on Wheels, and her helper, daughter Samaria. Katie recounts how Meals on Wheels preserves its core competency of preparing and packaging healthy meals for seniors while reworking all the supporting infrastructure that delivers those meals to the ones who need them.

Watch and listen, and then, if you can, donate to Meals on Wheels of Longmont. Money works best, but donations of factory-packaged, unexpired food products are also accepted at the Longmont Senior Center.
