Our Longmont and Colorado Rising announced they have filed a motion to reopen the case that stopped Longmont from putting place a fracking ban that voters approved with a 60% in favor vote in 2012.

The groups believe that the recently approved Senate Bill 181 overrules the Colorado Supreme Court ruling from 2016 that states the ban was in conflict with state law.

The arguments for and against will be made before a judge in Boulder County District Court. We will update and expand on this story as more information becomes available.
