Around ten years ago, Scott Nix, owner of Nixcavating Inc., wanted to make class reunions easier. He approached LDDA (Longmont Downtown Development Authority) to pitch the idea of dedicating a summer concert to a class reunion that included all classes having graduated from all of the SVVSD high schools.
Six years ago, with the help of Kimberlee McKee, executive director, and Emelie Torres, program coordinator, the idea took hold.
This year marks the 6th Annual High School Alumni Reunion held at the Downtown Summer Concert Series.
Graduates from Longmont, Silver Creek, Skyline, Niwot, Mead, Erie, Fredrick, Lyons, St. Vrain Online Global Academy, and Olde Columbine are invited to register and attend.
A booth will be available at the concert for graduates to check in and gain additional information. The first 200 alumni to register online will receive one free drink token (must be 21 to receive a token).
Additional information about tickets to the reunion at the Colorado Rockies game on July 13, organized by the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley, can also be found at the booth.
The festivities of the evening include live music from 6 Million Dollar Band and Jackson Cloud Odyssey. Food and drinks from local vendors will also be available. It is a cash-only event and admission is free.
