St. Vrain Valley Schools Hire Three New Administrative Staff

The St. Vrain Valley School board approved the hire of three new staff positions. Those positions include assistant superintendent of human resources, area assistant superintendent and executive director of student support services.

The St. Vrain Valley School board approved the hire of three new staff positions. Those positions include assistant superintendent of human resources, area assistant superintendent and executive director of student support services.

Damon Brown was approved as assistant superintendent of human resources, effective July 1, 2018. He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology with a minor in Aerospace Studies, a Master's in Public Administration and is pursuing a doctorate in Education, Education Leadership from the University Of Colorado. He is expected to complete his doctorate in 2019.

Brown has served in the role of executive director of human resources and risk management for St. Vrain Valley Schools. According to the memorandum seeking Brown's approval, he has "developed and implemented human resources and risk management procedures and policies, conducted investigations, facilitated the process of litigation, planned, developed, and managed a comprehensive risk management program which minimized the cost of lossproducing incidents," for St. Vrain Valley Schools.

For the position of area assistant superintendent, Bryan Krause was approved, effective July 1, 2018. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business/Marketing Education, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Instructional Leadership and also has his prinipal/administrator licensure.

Krause has served St. Vrain Valley Schoools for the last two years as the executive director of student services. "He oversaw a multitude of programs and departments including, but not limited to, Health Services, Threat Assessments and the School Attendance and Engagement Department," according to the school board memorandum.

The last approval was for the position of executive director of student services. It was awarded to Johnny Terrell and will go into effect July 1, 2018. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Masters of Education and his Principal Leadership Certification.

According to the school board memorandum, "Mr. Terrell has worked as the Director of Student Engagement Initiatives in Adams 12 Five Star Schools for the past three years, where he oversaw Threat Assessments, attendance, discipline protocol, emergency management, suspensions and expulsions."

The salaries for each of these positions are established according to the St. Vrain School District schedule.
