During last night's city council meeting, Mayor Dennis Coombs proclaimed September 26, 2017, as 'Live & Give Longmont Day'.

Board members of The Longmont Community Foundation (LCF), including Board President Matthew Zavala, were present to accept the proclamation.

"On behalf of the board, our executive director Eric Hozempa, and staff of the Longmont Community Foundation, we'd like to thank you for this proclamation. It really is a celebration of all the nonprofits that we have in this community," said Zavala.

"I'm proud to be in Longmont, and we all love living here in Longmont. Our nonprofits play a big part in the quality of life that we have here."

According to city council communication, "Live & Give Longmont Day was founded in 2016 as a way to celebrate the community and residents who came together to help one another during the floods of 2013."
