Sales Tax Increase To Appear On November Ballot

Longmont City Council unanimously voted Tuesday night for a ballot question asking Longmont's residents to vote on increasing the city's sales tax from 3.275 percent to 3.53 percent .

Longmont City Council unanimously voted Tuesday night for a ballot question asking Longmont's residents to vote on increasing the city's sales tax from 3.275 percent to 3.53 percent.

If passed in November, the ordinance, O-2017-46, will raise the sales tax by .255 percent and the proceeds will be used exclusively to increase the levels of service for Longmont's Public Safety.

Longmont's city election is scheduled for November 7, 2017.
