Officers and Firefighters responded to the Target store located at 551 S. Hover Street at 3:45 am on June 18, to a reported fire inside the store.

Upon entering the store they saw a significant amount of smoke inside. Their initial assessment was that the fire sprinkler system largely controlled the fire. The remaining fire was extinguished.

There is an undetermined amount of damage. The store is closed and will remain closed for an undetermined length of time.

The fire, which was started in the south-west corner of the Target store, was intentionally set. The Longmont DPS investigators are working with Target staff, and continue to investigate the arson.

They are seeking any information regarding possible suspects.
