May 15, is known across the nation as Peace Keeper Memorial Day. Each year our nation holds ceremonies to remember fallen officers who died in the line of duty.

With COVID-19 protocols in place, these ceremonies are being canceled or altered. The City of Longmont Public Safety Chaplains coordinated the recording of the ceremony with the help of Longmont Public Safety and Longmont Public Media.

The video was recorded in pieces allowing the speakers to come in and speak their part and leave, to ensure social distancing. Masks were not worn during speeches but were worn in the making of the video.

The broadcast of the event can be seen on Longmont's Comcast Channel 8 or 880, City of Longmont YouTube, Longmont Public Media YouTube, and Longmont Public Media's website. The event is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020 on the City of Longmont YouTube channel, and 5 pm on the LPM site(s).
