During last night’s city council meeting, Mayor Dennis Coombs proclaimed October 6, 2017, as ‘National Manufacturing Day’ in Longmont.

Wendi Nafziger, Vice President of the Longmont Economic Development Partnership (LEDP), Heidi Hostetter of Faustson Tool, Jonathan Hall of Frontier Metal, Dave Carlson of J&B Machine, and Scott Cook, CEO of the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, were present to accept the proclamation.

According to the proclamation, Longmont area manufactures "represent more than half of all primary industry businesses in our community" and "employ nearly 4,000 people".

The LEDP, in cooperation with the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, Front Range Community College, Career Development Center/St. Vrain Valley School District and NoCo Manufacturing, will be hosting St. Vrain Valley students as they tour local manufacturers and the Front Range Community College Advance Technology Center on October 6, 2017.
