Sweet Nightingale Boutique & Home Decor has opened its doors in downtown Longmont.

Located at 439 Main St, the boutique is "kind of a unique and eclectic mix of clothing, home decor, locally made or handmade items," said Tarin Newell, owner of Sweet Nightingale Boutique.

Newell, who still works part-time as a nurse at a local hospital, stated that her family is also very involved in helping her with the store.

"When I'm at the hospital with a shift that day, my mom or sister are here helping me that day," stated Newell.

Newell first started thinking about opening the shop last August and September, after moving to Colorado. She wanted to find a shop that would allow her mother to consign her crochet.

All of the crocheted goods currently sold in the boutique are made by her mother.

"It was cute and I just thought 'hey, I can do this with my mom's help," said Newell. After the first of the year, that became an "OK, I'm actually going to do this type of thing."

Sweet Nightingale Boutique is currently open Tuesday through Sunday; they are closed on Mondays.
