On September 26, the City of Longmont turned on a new traffic light at the intersection of Highway 119 and Fairview St.

"Traffic volumes at the intersection warranted the installation of a new traffic signal. In addition to the existing traffic, J. M. Smucker LLC is constructing a new production facility that will utilize this intersection as a primary access point," states the City of Longmont.

The project received a $250,000 grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs and the City of Longmont matched $110,000 of those funds, for a project total of $360,000.

Forecast Discussion:

Enjoy the last three days of late-summer weather.  It all ends this week.

Figure 1 is the forecast surface map for today. Tropical Storm (soon to be downgraded) Rosa is mushing (yes "mushing") ashore in Mexico with rain pouring into Arizona and southern California. We have 'some' moisture already making it into western Colorado. Models are showing the precipitatable water increasing every day this week until we are very moist by Wednesday.
