Longmont Police Officer David Bonday received the 2018 Beth Haynes Memorial Award. This award is considered to be one of the most prestigious awards given in Boulder County.

According to event literature, "The Beth Haynes Memorial Award was established in 1994 following the tragic loss of Officer Beth Haynes of the Boulder Police Department. On April 16, 1994, Officer Beth Haynes responded to a domestic violence call and was shot and killed by the perpetrator as she arrived on the scene. This is the only countywide award nominated by law enforcement officers and victim advocates and voted on by their peers."

Additionally Longmont Victim Services Advocate, Alexa Moreno was the 201 Special Recognition Award recipient. Both Moreno and Bonday received these awards and were publically recognized, "for their contributions and excellence in working with victims of Domestice Violence," states Deputy Chief Jeff Satur.

From the Longmont Police Department Officers Tyler Bartlett, Edna Munoz, Jocelyn Plascencia, MPO Dillon Cromley, and Detective Cody Clark also received nominations for this prestigious award.
