In June 2018, the City of Longmont began a new bike lane trial project. The trial will run for a full year before all the data will be collected.

In the meantime, the City of Longmont continues to collect public feedback and evaluate maintenance impacts associated with the separated lane.

"One of the key things City Staff wanted to better understand with this trial project is how the separated bike lane devices would affect snow removal operations. Unfortunately, Longmont has not received very much snow so far this winter," states City Senior Civil Engineer, Micah Zogorski, P.E.

After the trial has concluded in June 2019, data from the online survey will be compiled. City staff will present their findings to city council once their reports are finalized. Dates for the presentation have not yet been determined.
