The Longmont Museum announced today they plan to move all 2020 summer camps to an online-only format amid continued COVID-19-related closures. This comes after the closure of St. Vrain Valley Schools through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year and the cancellation of many other local summer camps.

In virtual summer camps at the Longmont Museum, children ages 3 – 16 will explore popular themes such as STEM, the Wild West, visual arts, outdoor skills, pop-culture, fabric arts and sewing, movement and circus tricks, a wizard's school, and classic arts and crafts. Each camp will be held online in a secure meeting room with activities planned away from the screen.

Camps range in cost from $125 - $185 per week, and camps last between one to three hours per day. The cost of all camps includes a specialized kit of supplies to be picked up outside the Museum the week prior to camp.

“Virtual summer camp will allow us to serve our community while ensuring the safety of campers, volunteers, and staff,” said Kim Manajek, Museum director. “We have been hard at work developing innovative, at-home camp programs that deliver the creative, hands-on learning you've come to expect from the Longmont Museum.”

The Longmont Museum remains closed to the public at this time due to COVID-19. For more information on coronavirus-related closures throughout the City, visit longmontcolorado.gov/coronavirus.
