Longmont, CO: The Longmont Economic Development Partnership (EDP) awarded The Longmont Climbing Collective a $7,000 grant as part of the Advance Longmont Target Industries Grant to assist new and expanding businesses in target industries exemplifying strong economic clustering in Longmont, Colorado.

Longmont Climbing Collective, located at 33 S Pratt Pkwy in Longmont is a climber’s paradise engineered to perfection – it is simply a work of art. Boulder County has a rich climbing history and Longmont Climbing Collective provides Longmont with a new asset that demonstrates the City’s and the County’s commitment to the outdoor recreation industry.

Co-founder Mack Maier writes on their website (www.longmontclimbingcollective.com):

“Longmont Climbing Collective has big dreams! We aim to be the central hub for the climbing community here in Longmont. We’ll do that by:

  • Outfitting 15,000 square feet of space with high-quality bouldering and fitness facilities plus training equipment, yoga and other fitness classes.
  • Welcoming the community to use Longmont Climbing Collective as a gathering place for meetups, social gatherings, festivals and special events.
  • Nurturing the next generation of climbers through bouldering instruction, guided courses, outdoor education and programs for people of all ages and ability.
  • Respecting and promoting diversity. Services will be in both English and Spanish.

We can’t think of a better place to do this than Longmont! We’re located only 12 miles from Colorado’s Front Range, home to some of the finest climbing in the world. Our climbing community here in Longmont has yearned for a place to meet, grow and train together. Now we have a place to call our own.”

The Advance Longmont Target Industries Grant is designed to support Longmont’s primary and local businesses in their expansion efforts. Utilizing Envision Longmont and the Advance Longmont Target Industries, the Advance Longmont Target Industries Grant functions by attracting and supporting new and expanding businesses to the area, assisting business owners with building improvements, and assisting with the cost of permitting and licensing, regulatory compliance, equipment purchases or exterior and façade improvements. This program reimburses eligible expenses, up to the preapproved grant amount, for projects that submit an application and meet all of the criteria of the grant program. Funded by the City of Longmont, the Advance Longmont Target Industries Grant awards up to $10,000 with a priority given to businesses already established in Longmont.
