La Madeleine, a French bakery and cafe, has now officially opened its doors.

The cafe, located at Village at the Peaks, is the first of its kind to open in Colorado and will be serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and pastries, as well as providing catering options. It's also the first location to carry beer. La Madeleine is planning to open more stores in Colorado, with the next one being in Fort Collins. There are currently more than 70 locations across the United States.

Before the grand opening, a VIP Celebration and ribbon cutting were held to welcome La Madeleine to the community. Attendants were able to try several samples from the menu such as the Quiche Lorraine, Chicken la Madeleine, la Madeleine Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot, and cheesecake. "I love the food. I love the brand," said Joe Reilly, General Manager.

Dan McReynolds, the franchise owner, spoke to the Longmont Observer about why he chose Longmont as a franchise location. "Longmont is one of the fastest growing communities and it's in a beautiful location. We assessed the community and the location and thought the community was ready for our type of restaurant," said Dan.

Mr. McReynolds also mentioned that before opening, a mock service was held where they served 500 people in a day. "People were warm and encouraging, " said Dan "this community is a great place."
