Today, August 9, Jeff Moore publicly announced his candidacy for the Longmont At-Large City Council Seat.

Moore states in his announcement:

I am announcing my candidacy for the Longmont at-large city council seat.  This will be my second term, as I previously represented Ward 2 until 2017.  I will apply my experience toward the completion of projects begun while I was on council, as well as working on solutions to other issues.  I have some innovative ideas related to developing transportation infrastructure, enabling entrepreneurism, and facilitating community inclusiveness in my next council term.

In the two years since I was on council not enough has been accomplished.  I am running because there needs to be a change in leadership so our city can continue to grow responsibly while maintaining our quality of life.

The issues that concern me will not be solved by rhetoric and false promises.  We need a city council that is bold and proactive to maintain our small town quality of life.  As a councilmember I want to focus on policies that achieve what is best for everyone who lives and works here.  Addressing these challenges will require someone with my unique experience who will safeguard our aspirations, now and into the future.  Longmont was founded on a spirit of entrepreneurship and grit and that is what I will bring to city council.
