A Colorado non-profit has started offering free complementary care to Veterans, Service members, and their family members to assist with pain and PTSD related issues in monthly pop-up sessions within Longmont.

Healing Warriors is a charity based in Fort Collins that provides Acupuncture, CranioSacral therapy and Healing Touch therapy services and education to service members and their families as non-narcotic options for Pain and Post Traumatic Stress. The organization focuses on using complementary care therapies at their monthly pop-up clinics which also run in Denver and Colorado Springs alongside Longmont.

Each qualifying individual that attends the clinics is given three one hour sessions completely free of charge and has the choice of any of the therapies offered. They can also receive discounted treatment after their three free sessions.

The Healing Warriors website gives some statistics to highlight why they feel there is a need for their service listing around 61,000 veterans living in the Rocky Mountain area alone and then more shockingly, it gives the statistic of 22 military veteran suicides per day. They go on to illustrate the positive effect their therapies can have with quotes from clients of their service such as this one from Thomas Joseph.

"When I came in I presented with sleeping disorders, high levels of anger, stress, and anxiety, and a low appetite. After several sessions with Sue, I noticed a significant difference in my overall balance and ability to focus and stay positive. I have responded very positively to healing touch as far as my emotional and mental state is concerned and I highly recommend it to all veterans."

The Longmont Free clinic is open on the 3rd Saturday of the month and is held at the Longmont National Guard Armory Alpha Battery, 3rd of the 157th Field Artillery located at 1512 N. Main St., Longmont, CO 80501. Clinic hours are 9 am to 1 pm. The service is being operated on a First come, first served basis. Treatments are 30 minutes per treatment session. If you would like to go along to the clinic you will need to bring Proof of Military Service such as a DD214 or military identification.
